Regions in Illinois DI
The memberships of Illinois Destination Imagination present their solutions to Team Challenges at a Regional Tournament in one of four regions:
Region 1, Region 2, Region 3, and Region 4.
Each membership must perform in the Regional Tournament they are assigned to in order to advance to the Affiliate Finals Tournament. Be aware that it is the membership’s mailing address in the counties or District, which determines this year’s assignment. If your school’s mailing address is located in the area south of Interstate 80 and the counties not listed below, or if the membership mailing address is located in the area north of Interstate 80 and the county or district is not listed below, please contact the Affiliate Directors for assignment. The prospective membership will be placed with one of the above Regions depending on its location. Each membership will be added to a Region using a case-by-case method, to ensure a more balanced number of teams presenting at each Regional Tournament. Memberships may be moved to a new Region if it makes more geographical sense. For instance, a team from Region 2 in a location close to Evanston, but in the Chicago city limits, could be moved to Region 4, to make their tournament day more accessible.
